Ansonia beats Holy Cross, 50-6. Improves to 9-0.

The Ansonia Chargers beat the Holy Cross Crusaders 50-6 on a rare Saturday game at Holy Cross High School to improve to 9-0 on the year.

Playing without star running back Markell Dobbs (held out of the game for precautionary reasons), Junior Running Back Darwin Amaya filled in quite nicely, as he ran for 4 TD's on runs of 8, 48, 20, & 1 yds.

Senior Justin Lopez returned a punt 70 yards for another score, and also intercepted a Cross pass. Sophomore RB Shaykeem Harmon also scored on a 9 yard run for Ansonia.

The win sets up what looks to be a great Thanksgiving matchup with rival Naugatuck. Both teams are 9-0, and both have already clinched a spot in the CIAC Playoffs! (Ansonia Class S, Naugatuck Class LL).

The game will be held at Naugatuck High School on Thanksgiving Day at 10:00 am. Come out and support Big Blue before heading to Thanksg1ving Dinner!
